Oh lordy, when I was going through puberty and reading all those wretched books like "So Your Body is Changing!" I always misread the phrase "pubic hair" as "public hair." I thought it meant the hair on your arms and legs, that showed when you went out in public in the summer. ..
..
Luckily, I don't think I ever said it aloud ("Hey Mom! Lookit all my public hair! I'm really turning into a big girl!") so I kept the potential embarrassment contained...
..
Good question!..

Well I'm sure I've had many misconceptions but none come to mind that really embarrassed me, if I don't know something I just ask...I'm conscious of the fact I might look naive or uninformed but I'm good with that cuz I'm usually a no bs type girl with a witty brain so that's my saving grace...But I do remember one not so long ago about STDs, that my sweet Carlos grinningly informed me of, we were sitting in my big bath, wine in hand, talking about sex and relationships...And I came to learn that bodily fluids transferred are bodily fluids transfered ... and it dawned on me why mouth guards/condoms exist lol...
..
Well you learn something new everyday and I've got my very own private Sexclopedia in that hot man and I'm constantly flippin' his pages hee hee!..

I came from a very modest family where we never saw our parents nude ever. I had no idea that women got pubic hair. I just thought men did. I remember those books of Michelangelo paintings and other Renaissance artists' renderings of the nude female body and they never depicted that area realistically. So I thought girls stayed the same from babyhood to adulthood. When I began to go through the changes, I remember being so repulsed and thought somehow I was turning into a man or had too many male hormones or something because I started to get hair there. I was mortified. I finally figured out when I was in high school that all girls get this and it is normal (of course!)..
