Here's that question

From what I've observed, that seems to be true in women in their 30s and younger. Maybe it is because there are more single women in that age group. But from what I've noticed, people in their 40s and older -..I don't see as high of a percentage of attractive women - by attractive, I mean good physical shape, nice hair and clothes. I'm thinking that could be because there are not as many women seeking a partner. I think when women are trying to attract a man, they take better care of themselves and stay slimmer and spend money on their hair. ..

As for the men (and I live in L.A.) I just don't see that many worrying about their looks. And again, it seems if they are over 40 and on the dating scene - I see more of them working out and dressing a little nicer. But I think there are a higher percentage of those that age who are married and often out of shape...

My conclusion - people look better when they are trying to date. The more single people, the more attractive...

I do not agree with this statement. For the most part I think there are a lot more attractive guys than girls, girls are just better at faking it with the makeup and clothes we have...

We aren't birds. This isn't the animal kingdom. Yes, it is generally more socially acceptable for women to do more about their looks -- i.e. wear nail polish, wear makeup, wax painful places of their body... But it is absolutely ridiculous to say that women are disproportionately more attractive than men. If we were birds, then yes, male birds are more brightly colored so that the girls can see them. Plus, different people find different things attractive. I, for example, LOVE chest hair. Whereas my friends hate hairy guys. I like a guy who is a little overweight. Many of my friends don't. I think it's a ridiculous statement to say there are more pretty women than handsome men...
