I think it's perfectly alright for one human being to tell another human being how they feel. A marriage proposal is just that. Your packaging of the question may have to be a little bit different that what a guy might come up with but in essence you're telling another person that you love them, you want to spend the rest of your life with them, and that you'd like to make it official before God and Family. ..
..
Any guy who has a problem with that after you've both been together for a bit and professed mutual admiration and love for each other isn't living in the 21st century...

Sure, why not? I have known lots of girls who've proposed, either because the guy was too shy, or she just beat him to it. :) I've also known some couples where nobody really proposed, like down on their knees with a ring and all that, but they just talked about it and said hey let's get married, and the other one said OK and that was that. I think anything goes these days...

I think it is totally ok for a woman to propose to a man. There's no harm at all. There are certain times in a relationship when it gets very overwhelmong and feels very right and that thought comes to mind, why stifle it? I'm sure that overwhelming urge occurs to many men which is why some of them pop the question at impromptu moments. Women can have those same urges...
I think some men may find it refreshing, some may find it exciting and thoughtful and some may feel that you've stolen their role. You know your man, you know which category he falls into, use that as a barometer...
I proposed to my husband and he gladly accepted. He was touched and thoroughly enjoys telling the story when prompted...

Times have changed. Although I am not interested in marriage yet, I think it would be fine and quite new and exciting to propose to my man...
I dont think he would mind at all. :)..
