That's the thing: I'm not a doormat. I like being nice because it feels good to me, but I'm also a smartass, sarcastic, I poke fun at people, and I'm not willing to back down from something I believe in. I am, however, more apathetic about things than other people I know. I tend to let things roll down my back rather than get upset about them...

That's actually a really good point. Someone who is overly nice because they are afraid of upsetting the person and losing them. It becomes unattractive to the other because it appears desperate...
