i met a guy during school orientation camp for a 2-year course, flirted a little,...show more

but remained acquaintances after that as he had a girlfriend. then we both retained in year 1 and got to be close friends over the course of the orientation period for the new year 1s during our second year in the school.. we even became classmates and i treated him genuinely as a friend then and didn't think much of it. in this 2nd year, his girlfriend broke up with him...

we later joined a kayaking course together and at the end of that 3 days, he texted me to confess. however, i couldnt see myself with him at that time, only seeing him as a buddy. hence i rejected him. soon after (after a month)..i learnt that he confessed to another girl, and shortly after followed by a girl from our class. i was rather angry as i felt that he wasnt being serious about me, the 2nd and 3rd girl. after the issue was resolved, i became best buddies with him and he proved to remain faithful to the chase of the 3rd girl who was ambiguous in her reactions, until he met a new girl from outside of school that i have never met. ..

he successfully chased that girl and are together in a relationship. however, as he tells me about the progress in his new relationship, about the incidences they go through and share about the various things he has done for her, etc, i started to fall for him as we do share friendly texts and phone calls, motivating each other to study. despite being a typical guy who appears insensitive, he is actually very caring and sweet to his girlfriend. he's funny, cute, sensible, and he makes me laugh. i have been trying to maintain my emotional distance and ignore the feelings i think i might have, but it isnt easy...

whats the best course of action? i think that i should just forget him and meet new people, but we share plenty of close moments and have been often mistaken by schoolmates to be together. on top of that, his girlfriend has entered university, having graduated from our level (as we both retained)....
